Wirtz Beverage Introduces Lazy River Light Hard Cider to Minnesota

Wirtz Beverage Minnesota is pleased to announce a partnership with Boston Beer Company to bring their latest cider brand, Lazy River, into Minnesota.

Lazy River is a refreshingly light and clean apple cider aimed squarely at the light beer drinker looking to "change things up." At only 130 calories per serving and 4.2% ABV, Lazy River is the ideal beverage for consumers looking to slow down and relax with something that is sessionable, but not too sweet.

The cider segment as a whole grew 84.2% YTD in 2015* with Boston Beer's own Angry Orchard leading all cider brands in the retail market with a 57% share. Lazy River is positioned to capture a large percentage of this growth as well. With 73 million light beer drinkers in the U.S. accounting for 48% of total beer volume, Lazy River will be the cider those customers turn to when they don't want the bitterness of traditional beer or are looking for something different.

Studies have shown that there is a thirst for a lighter, less sweet cider in the U.S. In a 2014 National Survey of Cider Drinkers by Toluna Research, 85% of respondents were light beer drinkers who were open to trying cider, but weren't currently drinking it.
