Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Kicks off 2015 with a Slew of New Brews

Dec. 30, 2014

Attention all hop-heads: Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has announced two hop-forward additions to its year-round line-up for 2015.

Starting Jan. 1, 2015, both Nooner Pilsner and Hop Hunter IPA will be added to Sierra Nevada's year-round offerings. Both of these beers will be available on draft and in 12 oz. bottles. Nooner will also be available in cans.

Nooner Pilsner is the brewery's take on the classic German pilsner. The beer will be a sessionable 5.3 percent ABV, filled with bright, zesty whole cone hop flavors and a crisp dry finish. Nooner Pilsner is both refreshing and substantial, making it the ideal beer for wherever the day may take you.

Hop Hunter IPA is an experimental offering from the hoppy minds at Sierra Nevada. It will feature oil from wet hops that have been steam distilled directly in the hops field, only moments after harvest. Combined with whole-cone hops and the Hop Torpedo, the pure hop essence will create an IPA aroma unlike anything else - the ultimate IPA experience.

Joining Nooner Pilsner and Hop Hunter in January will be Sierra Nevada's latest seasonal, Beer Camp Hoppy Lager. Brewed in collaboration with San Diego's own Ballast Point, Hoppy Lager is a re-imagined throw-back on the Electric Ray beer the two collaborated on for this past summer's hugely popular Beer Camp Across America. Hoppy Lager marks the first in a series of new Beer Camp seasonals that will be launching in the future.

While not entirely new, January also marks the return of Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot Barleywine. First introduced in the winter of 1983, Bigfoot is a cult-classic and prized by beer collectors for its ability to be cellared and aged. In cool, dark conditions, Bigfoot can age like a fine wine, developing new flavors and character as it matures in the bottle.

Finally, early 2015 will also see the rollout of the latest 4-Way IPA Sampler Pack. The spring 2015 variety pack features four different IPAs, including old favorites Torpedo and Ruthless Rye as well as new comers Blindfold Black IPA and Golden IPA.

With so many new beers on the horizon, 2015 is gearing up to be an incredible year for the Sierra Nevada brand. If you'd like to bring in some of these great, hop-forward ales and lagers, contact your Wirtz Beverage Minnesota Sale Consultant today to place an order, and have a Hoppy New Year!
