Minnesota Goes Craft Portfolio Goes Local with Norseman Distillery

Wirtz Beverage Minnesota is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Minneapolis’s own Norseman Distillery to distribute the company’s grain-to-glass spirits throughout the Twin Cities.

"Ever since the Surly Law passed two years ago we have been in search of the right local distillery to partner with," said Cody Johnson, craft brand manager at Wirtz Beverage Minnesota. "It was important for us to find a partner that crafted high quality spirits that are produced and sourced locally, as that is the largest opportunity to round out our already great craft portfolio."

Founded in 2013, the Norseman is Minneapolis’s first micro-distillery. Using the highest quality, locally sourced corn and grains, Norseman owner and founder Scott Ervin crafts each spirited batch by hand. From milling and mashing the grains, to distilling and bottling the finished product, each bottle of grain-to-glass spirit is produced with an artist’s touch.

Starting July 1, three of the Norseman’s small-batch spirits will be available to order through Wirtz Minnesota, including the Vodka, Gin and Barrel-Aged Rum. Learn more about these local offerings below, and contact your Sales Consultant for more information on ordering.

Vodka: Norseman Vodka starts with the finest local grains which are malted less than 40 miles from the distillery.  The vodka is distilled in a custom made continuous still Ervin built himself and polished in a specialized finishing still to create a pure American made vodka free of any fillers and additives.

Gin: Using a Norseman Vodka as a semi-sweet base spirit the elixir is vapor infused with 100% organic botanicals including juniper, coriander, vanilla, and citrus to create an heirloom quality gin full of fresh, clean flavors.

Rum: The Norseman Rum is distilled from pure 100% Organic Panela, a raw unrefined sugar that was used in rum making hundreds of years ago.  The resulting spirit is rested in a used bourbon barrel giving this old favorite a new American twist.  Norseman Rum is not overly sweet, but smooth as silk with a warm finish that sets a new standard for small batch quality.
